<p>剛開始決定留學，我的身邊就出現(xiàn)了許多反對的聲音。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>媽媽說：“女孩子一個人出國念書不安全。”</p>
<p> </p>
<p>爸爸說：“不如考公考編來得穩(wěn)妥。”</p>
<p> </p>
<p>從跟父母爭吵要不要留學，從被IC秒拒到陸續(xù)收到曼大、UCL、港大offer，從深夜自我懷疑、熬夜修改文書，到最后拿到滿意的offer，每一步都不容易......</p>
<p> </p>
<h1><strong>為自己爭取來的機會。</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p>我真正有留學的念頭是在大二下學期。那時候放寒暑假回家，家里討論最多的就是<span style="color: #0086d1;">“考研還是保研”，“考研考什么學校”。</span>但說實話，我對國內讀研有點抵觸。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>一來考研太卷了，我們專業(yè)保研名額少，想沖985就得每天泡圖書館刷題；二來<span style="color: #0086d1;">國內碩士要三年</span>，時間太長，而我更想早點接觸實際工作；最關鍵的是，我發(fā)現(xiàn)自己不太適應國內的科研環(huán)境——導師項目多但學生參與度低，很多同學只是為了發(fā)論文而“水”課題，這種氛圍讓我覺得壓抑。 </p>
<p> </p>
<p>不過一開始，家里人對留學的態(tài)度很矛盾。母親是典型的江浙滬家長，最擔心安全問題，總說：“女孩子一個人出國念書不安全”。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>父親在國企工作，所以他覺得“留學風險太大了，不如考公考編來得穩(wěn)妥”。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>那段時間家里三天一小吵，五天一大吵。最后我們各退一步：大二到大三我先準備語言和績點，如果成績和背景能提升到一定水平，再全力申請留學。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>真正讓我下定決心的是<strong>大二暑假參加的劍橋醫(yī)學院交換項目。</strong>其中一位老師是UCL畢業(yè)，她聊起英國公共衛(wèi)生體系的完善和GP制度，還有課程中對實際案例的分析，比如新冠疫情的防控策略和核算疫苗的開發(fā)，讓人耳目一新。</p>

<p>至于為什么選英國，理由很簡單：<span style="color: #0086d1;">學制短（一年碩士）、公共衛(wèi)生專業(yè)強</span>，而且比起美國更看重本科成績而非科研（我科研經歷不算多）。當然香港的學校也申了，主要是為了保底。 </p>
<p> </p>
<h1><strong>為什么選擇指南者留學？</strong></h1>

<p>找中介的事情因為我的拖延癥一直到拖到了大三暑假，但是當時我在醫(yī)院忙著實習沒工夫找中介，那個時候父親被朋友推薦了指南者留學，去南京和顧問老師聊了一次，我就決定簽約了。</p>

<p>吸引我的主要是他們的<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>“時間規(guī)劃”</strong></span>：不僅是在申請季的安排，申請季之前給的建議也非常中肯。</p>

<p>然后沈曉彤老師給我列了一份詳細的計劃：<strong>大四上學期主攻專業(yè)課，下學期有機會的話去做科研項目，寒假考雅思，同時穿插兩段實習。</strong>這種“保姆級”的手把手規(guī)劃讓我特別安心，畢竟自己之前完全沒有頭緒。 </p>

<p>我們學校開均分證明很麻煩，首先要自己擬格式和英文翻譯，然后要先去學部蓋章，再去另一個校區(qū)的本部教務處蓋章。為此我打了好多電話，在兩個校區(qū)間跑了三四趟，還差點把”加權平均分”寫成“算術平均分”，最后終于是卡著ddl上傳了成績單。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>文書是我最焦慮的部分。在在疾控中心實習時，我發(fā)現(xiàn)很多基層數(shù)據(jù)錄入效率低，導致疫情預警延遲，這段經歷讓我意識到技術和管理結合的重要性，所以想在碩士階段研究數(shù)字化公共衛(wèi)生系統(tǒng)。 </p>
<p> </p>
<p>這里必須夸一下指南者的文書老師！<span style="color: #0086d1;">李閨秀老師</span><span style="color: #0086d1;">她甚至幫我查了UCL公共衛(wèi)生課程的模塊，把教授的研究方向也融進了文書里。</span>比如提到一位教授用機器學習預測流感爆發(fā)，正好和我用R語言分析數(shù)據(jù)的經歷掛鉤。 </p>
<p> </p>
<h1><strong>不要啊沒書讀了！</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p>我的申請時間線拉得比較長，從去年10月到今年2月，我的心態(tài)也像正弦函數(shù)一樣波動。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>10月中旬，我基本上遞交了所有申請和齊全的推薦信。<span style="color: #0086d1;">IC的MPH第一個發(fā)面試邀請，我自認為答得還可以，但是第二天被秒拒……</span></p>
<p> </p>

<p>可以說當時瘋狂懷疑自我了呵呵，也沒好意思和家里人說我被拒了，還迷信地換上了接offer的微信頭像。</p>

<p>還好過幾天曼大的offer突然來了！郵件提示音響起的時候，我還躺在床上因為被IC拒而抑郁，看到“Congratulations”直接彈射起床，立馬告訴了指南者老師和家人。<span style="color: #0086d1;">感謝這份offer讓我從“不要啊沒書讀了”切換到“哎有學上就行”的淡人狀態(tài)。</span></p>

<p>11到12月期間，UCL、港中文和愛丁堡的offer也都陸續(xù)到手。但港大的面試邀請拖到今年2月才姍姍來遲，面試以后也很快給我發(fā)了offer。</p>
<p> </p>

<p>我在去香港和去英國之間糾結了很久。畢竟港大是出了名的“父母放心校”，離家近且相對更安全，能充當一個從東亞到適應純西方文化之間的緩沖帶。而且我的語言分也過了港大和港中文的要求，不需要再考了。但最終我覺得一段在海外長居的經歷不可多得，<strong>而且英國的公共衛(wèi)生專業(yè)排名更高，還是決定選擇接英國學校的offer。</strong></p>

<p>比如我心心念念的UCL在倫敦，毗鄰大英博物館，各種資源都十分豐富。<span style="color: #0086d1;">雖然UCL給我的con offer里要求均分90（我目前只有89.5）</span>，但算了下加上畢設或許能達標，網上也不乏一些不到CON分也上了UCL的例子，所以決定還是先接了UCL。 </p>
<p> </p>
<p>申請的學?；径际且笱潘?，苛刻的比如UCL甚至要求小分也都是7。這里建議大家早點開始準備且多考幾次，說不定就直接考出達標分數(shù)了。不要像我一樣，大四上學期第一次就考了雅思7之后就擺爛沒怎么學，導致現(xiàn)在需要為了con的語言分狂學英語。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>不過我決定轉考PTE了，聽了指南者蔡詩靜老師和考過的朋友介紹都說它是技巧性很強的一門考試，可以通過短時間大量刷題來集中備考，比如DI提醒套用模板說得足夠熟練就能拿分。 </p>
<p> </p>
<h1><strong> 硬背景vs軟背景，誰更重要？</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color: #0086d1;">英國香港新加坡的學校都十分看重均分。</span>我們專業(yè)課不僅難度大而且老師給分也嚴，我大一有一門課只有75分，為了拉高均分，大二特意選了幾門水選修課刷分。所以建議想申新港英的諸位都好好刷績點。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>實習經歷或者工作經歷也必不可少。<strong>正是因為新加坡國立大學的MPH需要一年工作經驗我才沒辦法申請。</strong>于我而言，在醫(yī)院和地方疾控中心的實習，尤其是在疾控急性傳染病防控部門的“百日咳數(shù)據(jù)監(jiān)測”經歷算得上有特色，好幾次面試都被問了一嘴。建議大家找實習時優(yōu)先選能接觸核心項目的崗位，哪怕打雜也要主動攬活，因為都可以和文書老師討論后將其修飾寫進文書里。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>我的科研經歷不算強，既沒有論文發(fā)表也沒有專利，但文書老師幫我挖掘出了課程設計項目和暑假研究項目。當然，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>也要銘記老師說的競賽性價比很高！</strong></span>我大二參加“挑戰(zhàn)者杯”英語寫作比賽，花了幾天時間準備混了個二等獎，也算是湊數(shù)地寫進了簡歷。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>最后，留學申請是場信息戰(zhàn)。比如港大的公共衛(wèi)生專業(yè)其實有多個方向，有的偏政策，有的偏流行病統(tǒng)計，指南者的老師直接幫我選了更適合我的專業(yè)方向。所以，一定要和中介老師多溝通，這里推薦大家可以使用指南者選校助手，上面關于各大院校專業(yè)的信息都很全面，是很好用的留學信息檢索工具。</p>
