<p>大家好，我是hindsight，畢業(yè)于南京工業(yè)大學(xué)國際經(jīng)濟與貿(mào)易專業(yè)，現(xiàn)在就讀約翰霍普金斯大學(xué)應(yīng)用經(jīng)濟學(xué)。在24fall申請季中，我拿到了<strong>圣路易斯華盛頓大學(xué)的金融學(xué)和約翰霍普金斯大學(xué)應(yīng)用經(jīng)濟學(xué)</strong>的offer，對于雙非背景的我來說這已經(jīng)是一個非常令我滿意的結(jié)果！</p>

<h1><strong>逆向文化沖擊</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p>在高中的時候，我沒有很宏大的個人目標(biāo)，我非常向往家庭，企圖依靠父母或是伴侶度過一生，想在我的家鄉(xiāng)、也是我的舒適區(qū)平淡地過一輩子。這種心態(tài)影響了我的學(xué)習(xí)動機和努力程度，我缺乏學(xué)習(xí)和進(jìn)步需要的動力和熱情，沒有把充足的時間和精力花在學(xué)習(xí)上，而是以享樂為目的。最終，我在競爭激烈的高考中表現(xiàn)不佳，本來成績可以上211的我只考上了普通一本。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>經(jīng)過四年的成長和反思后，我發(fā)現(xiàn)高考分?jǐn)?shù)不會騙人，它完全反映了我當(dāng)時的實力，我去的就是最適合我的學(xué)校。但是我也感悟到，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>本科只是我的起點，它決定不了我的高度。</strong></span></p>

<p>剛進(jìn)大學(xué)的時候，受父母朋友孩子的經(jīng)歷影響，我萌生了去英國讀研的想法，家里人也很支持。所以一進(jìn)大學(xué)我在學(xué)習(xí)方面就沒有怠慢，同時也很積極地學(xué)習(xí)英語，選了很多英語相關(guān)的專業(yè)課。但是當(dāng)時我的學(xué)習(xí)動力更多來源于沒有進(jìn)入名校的遺憾。</p>

<p>大二的時候，我參加了一學(xué)期的<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>英國坎特伯雷大學(xué)交流項目</strong></span>，這段經(jīng)歷讓我意識到獨立生活的重要性，激發(fā)了我對自我成長和探索世界的渴望。遠(yuǎn)離熟悉的環(huán)境和人際關(guān)系，我學(xué)會了自己獨立處理問題和面對挑戰(zhàn)。我不僅接觸到不同的學(xué)術(shù)體系和文化背景，更是結(jié)識了來自世界各地的新朋友。與不同國家的同學(xué)交流，讓我開闊了眼界，拓展了思維，更加深刻地理解到世界的多樣性和復(fù)雜性。<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>回來之后國內(nèi)外的反差也給了我不小的沖擊，可能這就是所謂的“逆向文化沖擊”。</strong></span></p>

<p>我對學(xué)術(shù)目標(biāo)和未來生活都有了更清晰的愿景，我想要離開舒適區(qū)，想走出去擁抱新的視野。想上世界最頂尖的大學(xué)、想換一種新的生活方式這樣的想法扎根在了即將開始大三生活的我的心里。</p>

<p>而在大四時，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>即使我的成績達(dá)到了保研標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，我依然放棄了保研名額。</strong></span>一方面，國內(nèi)的研究生教育模式對跨學(xué)科探索的靈活性較低，我們專業(yè)也只能保研到211，這令我不太滿足；另一方面，我依然渴望進(jìn)入一個更大的舞臺，接受全球頂尖學(xué)府的挑戰(zhàn)。</p>

<h1><strong>無“92”背景上名校</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p>一開始，我的目標(biāo)是申請英港新的商科項目，但我了解到了一些現(xiàn)實情況，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>那就是由于雙非背景的限制，我想上G5好專業(yè)的概率非常小，港新的學(xué)校更是非常注重“92”背景，</strong></span>而美國名校眾多，對于本科院校也沒有很硬性的限制，而且美國在經(jīng)濟學(xué)、金融和金工領(lǐng)域的STEM項目提供了更扎實的理論基礎(chǔ)和更廣泛的職業(yè)發(fā)展機會，于是我開始更加關(guān)注美國的學(xué)校，美國的top 30、甚至是top 15成為了我的目標(biāo)。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>選校時，我優(yōu)先考慮了學(xué)校的地理位置和職業(yè)資源。比如，像哥大紐大所在的紐約、像JHU所在的華盛頓特區(qū)，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>都擁有豐富的實習(xí)機會和研究資源，這與我的未來職業(yè)規(guī)劃高度契合。</strong></span>此外，我申請的項目均為STEM，目的也是希望通過OPT的三年工作簽證積累更多的實習(xí)和就業(yè)經(jīng)驗。</p>
<p> </p>
<h1><strong>破釜成舟的大三</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>績點是BG里最最重要的一個指標(biāo)，它很直觀地反映了一個學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)態(tài)度和能力。</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p>大二結(jié)束的時候，我的績點是3.69，排在專業(yè)第四名。我當(dāng)時的目標(biāo)就是保住3.70，沖上3.75。我們學(xué)校非常友好的一點是允許重修，而且成績單會取高分錄入，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>所以我的策略就是拼命重修，能選就選，</strong></span>到時候?qū)嵲趤聿患拔铱梢圆粡?fù)習(xí)，但是如果一開始不選那我最后即使有時間復(fù)習(xí)也沒有機會考試，這才是最懊悔的事情。</p>

<p>于是我在大三剛開學(xué)的時候選了兩門大二的時候沒有考好的課，大三更是選了五門重修課。連Python這樣讓大家望而生畏、覺得就算再學(xué)一遍也學(xué)不會的課程，我都很果斷地選擇了重修。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>事實證明我的策略非常正確，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>即使大三專業(yè)課非常繁重，我也出色地完成了所有重修課的考試，</strong></span>而且完全沒有影響專業(yè)課的成績。大三下學(xué)期的六月份是大學(xué)里最痛苦的一段時間，我要一邊做兩個專業(yè)實訓(xùn)，一邊準(zhǔn)備八門期末考試，同時還要不斷尋找暑期的實習(xí)機會。每天只能通過壓縮睡眠以及合理規(guī)劃、更高效地利用時間來完成任務(wù)。在七月份的時候我還有兩門考試沒有結(jié)束，但是實習(xí)又已經(jīng)開始，我只能白天工作，利用晚上的時間復(fù)習(xí)備考。 </p>

<p>盡管學(xué)業(yè)壓力陡增，但我始終堅信這些努力會為我的留學(xué)申請奠定更堅實的基礎(chǔ)。<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>這種“臨危不亂、破釜沉舟”的狀態(tài)，</strong></span>成為我申請季中最重要的轉(zhuǎn)折點——從大三開始到大三結(jié)束，我的績點從3.69到達(dá)了3.84。</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>在這里有一些提升績點的小tips給大家：</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p>首先，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>一定要有明確和可行的目標(biāo)，</strong></span>例如一個學(xué)期績點提高0.5，這樣會讓你對每一門課要考多少分有一個大概的方向。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>第二，大學(xué)的考試難度并不高（課程難度和考試難度不是一個概念），你一定有能力考好。如果上課不想聽、老師教得不好，導(dǎo)致知識點沒有掌握，那就積極上網(wǎng)搜索學(xué)習(xí)資源，在掌握知識點并對這門課有了整體把握（例如列出思維導(dǎo)圖）之后，開始拼命做題，這是在課程即使很難的情況下也可以把考試考好的關(guān)鍵。<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>大學(xué)期末考的本質(zhì)其實還是在應(yīng)試，那就一定有它的套路和應(yīng)對方法。</strong></span>還有一個方法是看看有沒有期末卷，每年的題型和套路都是差不多的，能搞透一年的期末卷就足以應(yīng)對期末考。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>第三，一些學(xué)?？赡荛_設(shè)網(wǎng)絡(luò)課程，選網(wǎng)課、刷網(wǎng)課來提高績點是可行的。但是要注意，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>很多國外大學(xué)會注意選修和必修成績的匹配程度，所以還是要首先重視必修課。</strong></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p>最后，一定要好好了解學(xué)校相關(guān)政策，不了解就多問學(xué)長學(xué)姐，甚至去問教務(wù)處的老師。<span style="color: #0086d1;">比如有的學(xué)校重修是不能覆蓋之前成績的，比如有的學(xué)校不會取最高分錄入，需要謹(jǐn)慎重修。</span>再比如很多同學(xué)不知道選修課也是在成績單上的，所以會輕視選修課。如果想利用學(xué)校的平臺來提升背景，想要參加寒暑期或?qū)W期交流項目，也一定要多關(guān)注學(xué)校交流處、國合處的信息。</p>
<p> </p>
<h1><strong>在失敗中找到突破</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>我在高中畢業(yè)的暑假就上了系統(tǒng)的雅思課，</strong>并且參加了一次雅思考試，當(dāng)時只有6.0的分?jǐn)?shù)。之后我一直在不斷學(xué)習(xí)英語，比如修讀學(xué)校開設(shè)的中級口語和高級口語課、每天背300個單詞、每天看英語文章、聽英語聽力等，以及我去過英國在語言環(huán)境下生活了幾個月，都讓我英語水平漸長。也建議低年級的學(xué)弟學(xué)妹要重視英語，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>重視大一大二時的積累和英語提升，</strong></span>這樣才能在大三備考雅思的時候更加得心應(yīng)手。</p>

<p><strong>下面是關(guān)于雅思的一些應(yīng)試經(jīng)驗分享：</strong></p>

<h2><strong>閱讀</strong></h2>

<p>做匹配題需要對文章進(jìn)行整體把握，我的方法是每讀一段就寫下中文大意，這樣讀完就不會忘記講了什么，可以大大提高這種題型的正確率。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>還有一個有效提高閱讀水平的方法是精讀，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>整理出一篇文章的學(xué)科詞、生詞、眼熟詞，錯題原因，以及所有題目當(dāng)中的同義替換，</strong></span>因為雅思閱讀和聽力的本質(zhì)就是同義替換。如果是因為文章意思看不懂那就整理每段的中心句。同時每天都要復(fù)習(xí)整理的內(nèi)容，不然精讀就沒有意義。</p>

<h2><strong> 口語</strong></h2>

<p>首先推薦楊帥英語口語公眾號，他的每日積累“背三句”非常有用，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>很適合培養(yǎng)語感、改善發(fā)音，</strong></span>同時所有素材都可以用于口語和寫作中。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>我第一次考口語只有5.5分，我覺得這個階段的特點就是沒有素材，即沒有詞匯、詞組、句型的積累。背誦可能是這個階段到6或者6.5的最好方法。我當(dāng)時準(zhǔn)備口語就是去針對每一個問題準(zhǔn)備特定的詞組和句型備用，沒有把握的甚至寫下完整的句子加以背誦。</p>

<h2><strong>寫作</strong></h2>
<p> </p>
<p>寫作的本質(zhì)就是放慢了的口語。因為我口語真的花了非常多的時間準(zhǔn)備，寫作我就花的時間很少很少，基本上一周可能只會完整地寫1-2篇。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>提高寫作的第一個方式是多多積累可以替換口語表達(dá)的高級詞匯和詞組，<strong>推薦一本書叫</strong><span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>《會讓你在IELTS寫作與口語考試中更像一個Native Speaker 1000條》</strong></span><strong>，</strong>雖然其中有一些表達(dá)可能也過時了，但還是很有參考價值的。</p>

<p>第二個方式是做對比翻譯訓(xùn)練，選擇一篇范文，根據(jù)范文的中文翻譯成英語，將自己的翻譯和原文進(jìn)行對比，分析兩者的差異，尤其關(guān)注語法、用詞或結(jié)構(gòu)錯誤，整理原文每段的邏輯走向。</p>

<p>我的小作文寫得非常好，但其實在高中剛畢業(yè)的時候，我覺得小作文特別難寫，每次都感覺自己在寫流水賬。到了大三，我突然開竅了，意識到小作文的關(guān)鍵其實在于背誦。<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>一定要熟記所有關(guān)于上升、下降、趨勢等不同表達(dá)，</strong></span>甚至可以默寫它們，然后靈活地組合起來就變得簡單多了。</p>

<p>練習(xí)聽力的方式就是針對沒有做好的題目進(jìn)行精聽，并每天對精聽的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行復(fù)習(xí)。下面是我的精聽筆記：</p>

<p>GRE的備考過程可以說是一場“持久戰(zhàn)”。我從大二開始接觸這門考試，但直到一年后，我才摸清它的出題套路。期間由于焦慮和準(zhǔn)備不足，我總是拿不到理想的結(jié)果，一直到申請季開始我還沒有出分。這讓我重新審視自己的復(fù)習(xí)策略，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>開始分模塊強化訓(xùn)練，重視整理和復(fù)習(xí)工作。</strong></span>最終，我在第五次考試中拿到了夠用的分?jǐn)?shù)。然而，<strong>備考GRE導(dǎo)致我的大部分項目申請晚了幾周，</strong>這也成為我申請季中的一個小遺憾。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>我對大家的建議是一定要盡早備考，最好在大一、大二這樣雅思不急著出分的時候多了解一下、系統(tǒng)地去學(xué)習(xí)一下GRE，背下托福單詞（托福是GRE的基礎(chǔ)），盡量背下GRE單詞，學(xué)習(xí)長難句（建議學(xué)習(xí)楊鵬長難句）。</p>

<p>另外，雖然gre是機考，平時最好對著電腦練習(xí)，但是最好打一份紙質(zhì)的題目下來在訂正的時候用，這樣其實比較符合中國學(xué)生的改錯習(xí)慣，也方便復(fù)習(xí)。</p>

<h1><strong>豐富的經(jīng)歷助力申請</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p>豐富的實習(xí)經(jīng)歷無疑是我的加分項之一。我一共有四段實習(xí)，<strong>我曾在中信建投證券的投行部門參與IPO項目，</strong>協(xié)助財務(wù)問詢與行業(yè)數(shù)據(jù)篩選。這段經(jīng)歷不僅讓我熟悉了金融行業(yè)的實際操作，還提升了我的數(shù)據(jù)分析能力。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>同時，我也在南京大學(xué)健康醫(yī)療大數(shù)據(jù)研究所參與了慢性病管理項目，通過Python分析醫(yī)療數(shù)據(jù)，探索關(guān)鍵健康因素對疾病進(jìn)展的影響。這些經(jīng)驗讓我在文書中能夠與項目申請高度契合，<strong>展現(xiàn)了我在金融與經(jīng)濟領(lǐng)域的多樣化背景。</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p>找工作要善用招聘網(wǎng)站，主動投遞簡歷，同時要善于發(fā)掘人脈，珍惜內(nèi)推的機會。在暑假和寒假，實習(xí)生非常飽和，可能很難找到實習(xí)，要多投遞，不要輕易放棄，要相信投100封一定會有至少1家公司回復(fù)你。</p>

<p>簡歷可以使用star原則，過往的實踐、實習(xí)經(jīng)歷包含四個關(guān)鍵元素：<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>Situation、Task、Action和Result，</strong></span>通過明確這些要素清晰地表達(dá)在特定情境下面對的任務(wù)，采取的具體行動以及取得的結(jié)果。</p>

<h1><strong>JHU下offer前的莫名預(yù)感</strong></h1>
<p> </p>
<p>申請季正式開始后，我分批遞交了申請。拿到WUSTL的offer后，我和主申請老師商量調(diào)整了策略，<span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>刪去了后面的保底項目，將后續(xù)的申請集中在更多沖刺的項目上。</strong></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p>大四下學(xué)期主要就是在等offer，因為有WUSTL的offer在手，我沒有特別緊張，而是開始了我的各國旅行，這一年我去了將近10個國家，豐富的旅行經(jīng)歷讓我的視野更開闊、思想更開明了。</p>

<p><strong>記得在新加坡旅游的時候，我凌晨四點莫名其妙地就醒了，</strong><span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>沒想到幾分鐘后就收到了JHU的o</strong></span><span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>ffer，</strong></span>當(dāng)時的驚喜和興奮至今難忘。</p>

<p>JHU之所以成為我的最終選擇，是因為它不僅title好、位置安全，提供了靈活的課程安排，而且是利于找工作的STEM項目，dmv地區(qū)也有相對豐富的實習(xí)資源。</p>

<p>當(dāng)然，申請季中也有遺憾。部分項目未能錄取主要是因為GRE遞交較晚、分?jǐn)?shù)不夠和文書修改不足。如果重來一次，我會更早規(guī)劃時間，并提升文書的個性化表達(dá)。不過，來到美國后，<strong>我發(fā)現(xiàn)未能錄取的項目并沒有顯著優(yōu)勢，而JHU的實際體驗已經(jīng)遠(yuǎn)超我的期待，</strong>所以我覺得這就是命運最好的安排。</p>

<h1><strong>讓留學(xué)成為改變?nèi)松臋C遇</strong></h1>

<p>申請季讓我明白，留學(xué)不僅是一紙文憑的追逐，更是一場關(guān)于自我提升與跨文化交流的旅程。</p>
<p> </p>
<p>對于學(xué)弟學(xué)妹們，我的建議是盡早規(guī)劃，從語言到實習(xí)都需要一步步扎實推進(jìn)。<strong>我一直都相信，“偉大是用卑微來換取的”， </strong><span style="color: #0086d1;"><strong>努力決定下限，運氣決定上限，</strong></span>你的每一次努力都能為最終的結(jié)果添磚加瓦。也希望大家不要害怕跨文化的碰撞，因為我相信有人的地方都可以生存下去，我鼓勵大家去積極探索不同的生活方式和環(huán)境。</p>

<p>今年的申請季難度相較往年有所增加，但只要提前規(guī)劃，明確目標(biāo)，<span style="color: #0086d1;">普通本科的學(xué)生也能通過努力走向世界一流學(xué)府。</span>希望我的經(jīng)歷能夠給未來的申請者帶來一些啟發(fā)，讓大家在留學(xué)路上少走彎路。</p>
